Facebook comment exporter
Export the comments on a Facebook post, video, photo or group post you can open, with reactions, dates and the replies Facebook sends with them, to CSV, JSON or Markdown. Comment Downloader reads them with your own Facebook login, in your own Chrome.
Add to Chrome, freeCollecting and CSV export are free. 5 AI reports a month on the free plan.

What it exports
- Comments on posts, videos, photos and group posts you can open, up to 5,000 per run
- Author, date and reaction count on every row
- Replies that Facebook includes with the comments, placed under the comment they answer
Honest limits
- You must be signed in to Facebook in the same Chrome. Comment Downloader never asks for your password; it uses the session you already have.
- Requests are spaced 3 to 5 seconds apart, so a big post takes a few minutes. A run reads up to 60 pages of comments.
- If Facebook refuses a request, the run stops and keeps what it already read. Meta does not allow automated collection, so no tool can promise an account is risk free.
- Chrome asks for permission once, the first time you collect from facebook.com.
How it works
- Sign in to Facebook in Chrome as you normally do.
- Open the post, copy its link, paste it into Comment Downloader and press Collect.
- Filter and search the comments, export a CSV, or press Find angles.
CSV columns
Also available as JSON, Markdown, or a compact "Copy for AI" block to paste into ChatGPT or Claude.
| Column | What it holds |
|---|---|
author | Name shown on the comment |
posted | Date and time, ISO format |
likes | Likes or upvotes when the site shows them |
is_reply | yes for a reply, no for a top-level comment |
comment | The full text |
link | Link back to the comment or page |
More than an export: the angle report
Exporters stop at the spreadsheet. Comment Downloader reads the collection for you and writes a report where every line cites the comments that prove it.
Pains, desires, objections, ad angles, hooks, audience profiles and short UGC-style ad scripts, in your market's language. Example: "the straps dig into my armpits" becomes the objection behind an ad angle, with the quotes linked.
Or ask Claude or ChatGPT
Add Comment Downloader as a connector and ask in plain words, for example "collect the comments on this page and give me 5 ad angles". Your assistant asks your Comment Downloader extension to collect, in your own Chrome.

Questions
Is my Facebook account at risk?
Comment Downloader reads one post at a time, slowly, only when you ask. Meta does not allow automated collection, so no tool can promise an account is risk free.
Does it read my password?
No. It uses the session already open in your browser and never sees your password.
Can I export comments from a Facebook group post?
Yes, from any group post you can open while signed in.
Is there a limit?
Up to 5,000 comments per post per run. Collecting is free and unlimited in number of runs.
