# Comment Downloader

> Comment Downloader collects real customer comments and reviews (Reddit, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Amazon, App Store, Google Play, Trustpilot and 22 more sources) and turns them into ad research: pains, desires, objections, buyer segments, ranked ideas to test, ad angles, hooks and UGC scripts. Every finding links to the real quote. It works inside AI assistants through a remote MCP connector.

Steps by client:

- Perplexity, Grok, Le Chat: add a custom connector with the URL above and complete the sign-in.

Works without the extension for these sources, collected on the Comment Downloader server: Hacker News, Stack Overflow / Stack Exchange, App Store, Google Play, Steam, Bluesky, Mastodon, Lemmy, DEV Community, Discourse forums, and YouTube comments. Other sources (Amazon, Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Trustpilot, Google Maps, Yelp and more) are collected in the person's own Chrome through the free Comment Downloader extension (they stay signed in to the sites themselves), or on the server through a paid data provider when their plan includes it. The collect tool says which path it used. For extension sources, ask the person to install the extension and press "Allow sites for AI tasks" once. Reports, saved quotes, search and exports work from the assistant alone.
